About the Teacher

About Me

I was born and raised in North Carolina. I graduated from Campbell University in North Carolina with a degree in Elementary Education K-6. I am also dual certified in Exceptional Education K-12.

I am married and have a beautiful daughter named Taylor and a son named Noah. I also have a Pomeranian named Lady. My family moved to Florida in 2007 and I have been enjoying the sunshine and beaches ever since! I enjoyed my years of teaching in North Carolina but I am very happy about teaching another year at PLE!

When I am not teaching, I enjoy reading and writing children's literature. I LOVE football! I also love watching Mixed Martial Arts and spending time with my family and friends. I enjoy track and field and playing softball. I love going to the movies and my two TRUE favorite hobbies are sleeping and eating...I LOVE food from all cultures.

I am looking forward to another successful school year!

My Philosophy

I believe that all students can and will learn. They may not learn at the same rate but when given the opportunity, students will excel to the best of their abilities.

I strive to get to know my students both academically and personally. I work hard to know what motivates them to learn as well as what may discourage them. I also work hard to differentiate instruction and assignments for my students in order to ensure that they are successful.

It is important that in the early years children develop a love of learning in our ever changing world. I pledge to do all that I can to foster that development.

I believe that we as three (teacher-parent-child) working together...ensures your child to be the best s/he can be.
